basic / 1000 / 2000

Select the grade against the measured condition of the sealing face, including pitting, corrosion and erosion.

Seal the face. Treat the damage.

FILLING basic seals the prepared surface. FILLING 1000 and 2000 address local damage of increasing depth. The system uses compatible single-component paste compounds.

Selection starts with inspection

Assess surface roughness, joint geometry and the location and depth of damage. Confirm the condition of the load-bearing sealing strip before selecting the repair grade.

Application sequence

Treat local cavities with the appropriate repair grade and use FILLING basic on the remaining sealing face. Follow the manufacturer’s application and heating instructions for each grade.

Use the FILLING system according to its own guidelines. Do not combine BIRKOSIT with FILLING repair grades in the same joint.

Documented system ratings

Temperature resistance up to 950°C. Pressure resistance: 275 bar on split joints, 570 bar on flanges without sealing rings and 670 bar on screw joints, subject to the manufacturer’s instructions.

Operational testing

FILLING basic requires temperature as well as pressure for the specified operational test. FILLING 1000 and 2000 are also suitable for hydrotests under the documented conditions. Review the full test procedure before assembly.
